The trick looks more impressive if you mark the force card with a slight bend on the edge, then do the trick with the cards face down. Upon positioning the cards in the clock you know which hour they chose by watching for the very slight bend at the edge of the card. Looks more impressive that way imo.. they never notice the slight bend...
